A sector with this many school-going children produces a very specific laundry pattern. Two or three uniform sets per child in rotation, PE kit that comes home genuinely dirty rather than lightly worn, and white canvas or leather school shoes that are supposed to be white. All of it has a hard deadline: Monday morning.

We work to that. Friday or Saturday collection with Sunday return is the normal shape of a booking here, and laundry is a 24-hour turnaround as standard, so there is room in the week. What we will not do is promise a deadline we cannot hold — if a load will not make it, you will hear that at pickup, not on Sunday night.

Uniforms also need honest handling. Ground-in playground dirt, ink and food are the three that show up week after week, and pointing them out at collection means they get treated directly rather than being left to a general cycle.

Shoes, kit and the rest of the household

School shoes are the item most parents have given up on, and they are cleanable far more often than people assume — canvas, leather and mesh each get a different treatment. Sports kit benefits from being washed as its own load rather than with everything else.
