A sector with this much rented accommodation produces a different booking pattern to a settled family sector. People send six shirts on a Tuesday rather than forty pieces on a Saturday, and they care a great deal that a small order does not attract a delivery charge that costs more than the wash. It does not. Pickup and delivery are free and the item-wise rates are published in full, so five shirts costs exactly five times what the list says a shirt costs.

Ironing-only is a common booking here for the same reason — a tenant with a washing machine and no board.

What actually needs care

The work itself is mostly straightforward wash and press, but two things come up often enough to mention. First, the distinction between wash and dry clean: we will tell you honestly when a garment does not need the more expensive process, because sending a cotton shirt to dry cleaning helps nobody. Second, wet cleaning — for items that are genuinely soiled rather than lightly worn, a water-based specialist process is frequently the better answer than a solvent, and we use it where it fits.

In shared flats every person's order is counted, packed and receipted separately. Three tenants in one flat should get three orders back, not one bundle to argue over.
