Sector 90 is two things at once. There are the township towers with their gates and lifts, and there is the older settlement with narrow lanes and builder floors, and we collect from both in the same afternoon.
Two kinds of address, one service
In the towers it is a lobby or flat-door handover once the gate has logged us in. In the lanes it is the gate of the house, or the top of a staircase with no lift. Neither is harder than the other, they just need to be planned differently — which is why we ask for a landmark rather than only an address in the older pockets, where a map pin can put a van two turnings away.
What the two halves share is the ordinary work: the weekly wash, uniforms and office clothes, sheets and towels, and pressing. Everything is counted piece by piece in front of you before it leaves, written onto a receipt, and checked back against the same receipt on return. That is the same whether you are on the fourteenth floor or the ground.
Leather is a separate craft
Where Sector 90 differs from its neighbours is the one-off jobs. Leather jackets that have been hanging unused since last winter. Handbags that have gone dull at the corners. Wallets, belts, work shoes. Leather is never cleaned like fabric and never goes into a dry-clean load with garments — it is conditioned as well as cleaned, and the wrong process dries it out permanently. Occasion wear is the other recurring request: sarees, lehengas and suits that come out for a function and need proper dry cleaning afterwards, not a wash.
