A shared flat produces laundry differently from a family. Nobody is doing a Sunday wash for six people. Instead it is one person's fortnight — shirts, trousers, t-shirts, a few towels — and then, separately, the flatmate's. We are happy to keep those as separate orders with separate receipts, and it saves an argument later. Say so when you book and we will count them apart at the door.

The other thing about this sector is that clothes get worked in. A lot of Sector 87 travels out to the industrial belt, which means real wear rather than office wear: heavier soiling, more frequent washing, and clothes that need to survive being washed often. The everyday wash is the bread and butter here, with proper pressing on whatever has to look sharp.

Shoes, bags and the things that get forgotten

What almost nobody in a shared flat gets round to is shoes. A pair of work shoes or daily trainers can be brought back a long way, and so can a rucksack or a laptop bag that has done a year of commuting. Belts, caps and similar accessories clean up too. These go on their own line on the receipt because they are cleaned by a different process from clothes, and leather is never handled like fabric.

We look at each pair at pickup and tell you what we think will come off and what will not, instead of taking your money and returning them much as they left.

Collections here are run from Wash4You Arcadia in Sector 49, scheduled into evening trips because that is when this sector is home.
